"The MSA Prairie Style in a suburban neighborhood"

The MSA Prairie homes have literally taken the new home market by storm. Introduced less than two years ago in Volume 4 of Mark Stewart & Associates Home Designs, these elegant homes have truly returned "a beautiful sense of logic to home design". The low pitched hipped rooflines with broad overhangs and prairie style gridded windows, coupled with Mark Stewart’s innovative space saving floor plans have created a new class of architecture that stands alone in today’s market. Since introducing the MSA Prairie series in 1994 these elegant homes have accounted for over 40% of all stock plans sold from The Mark Stewart offices and over 50% of all custom designs by Mark Stewart.

The MSA Prairie series have been built in suburban neighborhoods from the very beginning of this phenomenon. When placed in a typical subdivision these homes have proven an impressive neighbor. In one subdivision, in Portland Oregon, the MSA Prairie homes have consistently sold and appraised at more than 10% above their conventionally styled neighbors. These homes have achieved the difficult task of standing on their own merit as architectural sculptures, while still belonging in more traditional neighborhoods.

In fact, what tends to happen is that the Prairie homes look so much more regal and sophisticated, they tend to somehow demand more attention, they sell faster and for more money. The market has long been starved for a viable architectural alternative to the colonial, and pseudo traditional offerings of the last 20 years. The MSA Prairie series does this and more. Not a single modern convenience is overlooked in these designs, yet the curb appeal is fresh, new, and very attractive. The low-pitched roof, using less lumber and roofing than conventional rooflines mitigates the increased costs of the broad soffitted eaves.

The MSA Prairie series has successfully integrated itself into suburban neighborhoods as well as the collective consciousness of today’s market. With its timeless lines and intelligent floor plans, these homes are at home in any subdivision or rural setting.

The MSA Prairie series…
